60 Ton Captain – Vancouver
Our 60 Ton Ocean Magic requires a capable captain to run our vessel from downtown Vancouver on a day trip to Victoria from June 1st to September 2nd. Our schedule is four days on and four days off.
Candidates will have a minimum 60 Ton Captain’s ticket along with an unrestricted SVMO, associated radio operators certificate, marine emergency duties, and marine first aid.
Experience in the whale watching or marine wildlife industry is important since tourism and respect for the environment is integral to our business.
You will enjoy working with tourists in a stimulating, interactive environment and good people skills are vital.

Prince of Whales Whale Watching, British Columbia’s largest marine eco-tourism company is looking to hire a First Mate, experienced in the marine wildlife viewing industry. Our 60 Ton Ocean Magic requires a capable First Mate to run our vessel from downtown Vancouver on a day trip to Victoria from June 1st to September 2nd. Our schedule is four days on and four days off (approximately).Candidates will have a minimum 60 Ton First Mate’s ticket along with associated radio operators certificate, marine emergency duties, and marine first aid. A strong candidate would also have the unrestricted SVMO, but it is not required.

Naturalist/Deckhand – Victoria
Prince of Whales Whale Watching, British Columbia’s largest marine eco-tourism company is looking to hire naturalists/deckhands, experienced in the marine wildlife viewing industry. This is seasonal, on call work aboard a 60 Ton vessel called the Ocean Magic II based out of Victoria. Crew could be called as early as May to crew our 3 hour tours; the season runs until approximately end of September.
Candidates will have the Marine Emergencies Duties A2 certification and First Aid.
Experience in the whale watching or marine wildlife industry is important since tourism and respect for the environment is integral to our business. It is important that applicants have a strong interest in, and knowledge of marine mammals local to the area. They must look forward to the educational aspect of this job. Applicants with a background in marine biology are especially encouraged to apply.
