Today was mainly sunny with winds around 60 km/hour on the water. We sent the Ocean Magic out to Haro Strait today and they experienced a bumpy but fun ride on the way out because of the windy conditions. The passengers got to see Dalls porpoise swimming at the bow of the boat as the wind died down. No whales were sighted today but it was a great day to be out on the water. Tomorrow we have the Ocean Magic departing at 12:15pm and zodiacs starting at 1pm. The weather for tomorrow sounds like it will be beautiful as well... so reserve your seats now!!

The day was overcast,warm and the waters calm. Tomorrow calls for a high of 11 degrees. A multitude of California Sea Lions, Harbor Seals, Otters and Porpoise were spotted out and about! With a report of whales earlier this morning, our boats set out to San Juan Islands. Shortly after, we were sitting with one of our southern resident pods, j pod making up a total of 26 killer whales! If the weather is as beautiful as it was today, we should have nothing but smiling faces and smooth waters.

Today we found some Transient Killer Whales. Our Ocean Magic passengers watched as a group of transients made their way through our waters at full transient speed. We also found a few Harbour Porpoises and some California Sea Lions lounging in the sun. Hopefully tomorrow will be just as prosperous.

Today was definitely a Zodiac day! The wind came up a bit as the afternoon went on making for a bumpy, thrilling ride on the 12 person open Zodiac boats. We focused more on wildlife today, spotting seals, sea lions and porpoise in the waters around Victoria. The final trip of the day just departed at 4:30pm with a full load of passengers ready for a wild ride! Tomorrow we'll be keeping our fingers crossed for spotting Killer Whales on our 12:00 Zodiac departure and our 12:15 Ocean Magic cruise. If the wind holds tomorrow, it will mean more wild Zodiac trips and for those more inclined towards the smoother ride, the Ocean Magic (our 62' covered cruiser) may be the preferable option. Keep in mind that at the end of this month we will be starting our Whales and Gardens Tour where you can put whale watching and Butchart Gardens all together in one package! We are looking forward to a wonderful day on the water! It's looks like it's going to be sunny for most of the day which means our conditions for whale watching should be great. The winds should be calm makeing for a great ride. We have two Zodiac style boats going out, one at 12:00 and one at 1:00. We also have our Ocean Magic which is our 62 foot covered boat that holds up to 74 people. The Ocean Magic has a heated section, it also has washroom facilities and a small snack bar. The Ocean Magic leaves at 12:15 today. We are expecting it to be a very exciting day with the adventure of looking for whales! The sea conditions for whale watching couldn't have been better this morning: blue skies and flat calm waters. The breeze has come up a little in the last hour or so, making for a slightly wilder ride on the open Zodiac boat. The clear, calm conditions make our search for Killer Whales all the easier. Two of our Captains, James and Shaun are out searching the waters around Victoria currently and will hopefully be reporting back to us soon on the radio. The warm sunny conditions mean lots of departures today: there will be Zodiacs leaving at 1 and 2 o'clock pm as well as our covered cruiser, the Ocean Magic at 12:15pm.

We found the Whales!!! As we headed out West we managed to catch a big group of Transient killer whales as they made their own way out east. It is a pretty rare sight to see so many transients together like this. It is something that all our passengers got to witness today. We have several tours going out tomorrow with seats available. Today our first boat out found a very famous Transient Killer Whale named Pender. He was found heading East near Race Rocks all by himself. The day began a trifle on the gray side, however conditions are quickly clearing up. After having seen Transient Killer Whales the last few days, we're hoping that the good luck will hold and we'll spot them again today! We plan on sending off the Ocean Magic covered cruiser at 12:15pm which will probably be pretty popular today in light of the fact that rain is always a possibility during the Spring on the west coast. For those more inclined towards the wild, adventurous ride, there will also be Zodiac departures at 1:00pm and 4:00pm.

The passengers on our 1pm Zodiac came back from their trip a bit wet from the rain, but full of smiles after getting to see Transient Killer Whales. There was even rumour of an Elephant Seal at Race Rocks! We are looking forward to seeing the Transients again tomorrow, on the 1:00pm Zodiac and the 12:15 Ocean Magic departure.

Today the Ocean Magic, our 62' covered cruiser departed at 12:15 and began its search for whales. Despite being a bit damp out on the water today, our passengers were able to enjoy a picturesque view of East Sooke Park, including Becher Bay and Race Rocks. Earlier in the day we spotted seals at Race Rocks and a Minke Whale further towards the American side of Juan de Fuca Strait. Later on this afternoon, one of our Captains, James, spotted Transient Killer Whales near Salmon Bank. We're looking forward to tomorrow, when we will be sending a Zodiac at 1:00pm and the Ocean Magic at 12:15pm.

What another beautiful day on the water! The conditions today were calm and sunny; a reminder that summer is just around the corner. Today's sightings included a showing from a group of Transient Orca. These animals will feed on almost everything in the ocean, from small fish to other whales! They are currently in a resting formation heading south, and there is a good chance we will be able to enjoy their company again tomorrow! Spots are filling up fast on all our tours tomorrow!

One of our Captains, John, reported over the radio that the conditions on the water today are picture perfect. He is currently out on a Zodiac watching Transient Killer Whales in the middle of Haro Strait, with a clear view of Mount Doug and Hannah Heights on San Juan Island. The Transient Killer Whales are currently moving southwards towards Victoria and are in a resting formation, coasting casually along in a small group. Transient Killer Whales are the mammal-eating variety of Orca and tend to hunt in smaller groups than their Resident counterparts. We're looking forward to hopefully seeing them again tomorrow, on our 12:15pm Ocean Magic trip and our 1:00pm Zodiac departure.

Today we were lucky to find transient killer whales T100's and T101's south of Oak Bay on our afternoon zodiac trip.

Today we saw a group of Transient Killer Whales off of Trial Island. Not only that but we were also able to find a few Harbour Porpoise, a bald Eagle as well as Sea Lions and Harbour Seals. The weather could not have been friendlier,and we are expecting the same tomorrow. We have lots of seats available so call now to book your spot.

We have done it again!!!! Transient Killer Whales. Our Ocean Magic watched as a group of transients made their way passed Trial Island. We also found a few Harbour Porpoises and some California Sea Lions lounging in the sun.

This might just be one of the most beautiful days we've had yet this year. The sun is shining, and were rearing to go. Were going to keep our fingers crossed and hopefully find some of our resident J-pod in the area.
