Victoria Departures – PICK YOUR TOUR

Year Round Zodiac Adventure Tours

Prince of Whales, 812 Wharf Street, Victoria, British Columbia

Get ready for the Adventure of a Lifetime! Whether you are a first time whale watcher or a seasoned veteran, we guarantee that you will have a blast!

Our fleet of open-air, purpose built, zodiac-style vessels are Victoria’s largest and safest. Equipped with bright yellow inflatable collars, this stable design cushions your ride and guarantees maximum buoyancy even if the sea conditions are rough. With aerodynamic aluminum hulls and reliable twin two-hundred horsepower Mercury engines, our vessels are able to cover over one hundred miles in one trip. This maximizes the distance you can travel on your tour and the amount of time you are ultimately able to spend viewing whales and other marine wildlife.

Your tour will last a minimum of three hours and will include various stops at different points of interest within the protected waters of Haro Strait and the Strait of Juan de Fuca. While on scene with whales and other marine wildlife, the vessel will be positioned parallel to the animals allowing for excellent photo opportunities. All the while, you will be fully entertained and educated by the industry’s best and brightest marine adventure guides.

We have departures every half hour from 9am to 5pm during peak season allowing us to accommodate all types of travelers – especially those who are just visiting for the day or those who are arriving by cruise ship.

All of our guests are required to wear a Mustang Survival flotation suit for their entire Zodiac Adventure. These suits are designed to protect from cold weather and use closed-cell foam to offer flotation in the event of an emergency.

We keep a large inventory of flotation suits of varying size and can accommodate all ages. Guests are advised to dress warmly for their tour. We have changing facilities and lockable storage, on-sight, to ensure your privacy and the safety of your belongings.

Ocean Magic Adventure Tours

Prince of Whales, 812 Wharf Street, Victoria, British Columbia

All aboard Victoria’s whale watching flagship! The world famous Ocean Magic II combines the practicality of a semi-covered vessel with the speed and maneuverability of a zodiac.

This sixty-two foot vessel was custom designed and professionally fabricated right here in British Columbia for the express purpose of premier west coast whale watching. Its streamlined design allows it to push through waves with ease while maintaining speed. This maximizes the distance you can travel on your tour and the amount of time you are ultimately able to spend viewing whales and other marine wildlife. The top sun deck provides a viewing platform that is ideal for photography.

Ocean Magic II’s twin engines produce an industry-leading sixteen hundred and fifty horse power! But don’t be fooled by all of that power. Ocean Magic II uses less fuel per passenger than any other vessel in the harbour. Its surface-piercing propellers reroute intermittent engine noise above water limiting the disturbance to nearby marine mammals.

The vessel has a large heated indoor cabin and two open air sun decks. This adds flexibility to your adventure as you are free to move about the vessel as you please. You may also enjoy the added comfort of two washrooms and a snack bar.

Your tour will last a minimum of three hours and will include various stops at different points of interest within the protected waters of Haro Strait and the Strait of Juan de Fuca. While on scene with whales and other marine wildlife, the vessel will be positioned parallel to the animals which allows for excellent photo opportunities. Plus, you will be fully entertained and educated by up to three of the industry’s most highly trained marine naturalists all the while.

We have three departure times per day, at 9:00am, 12:15pm, & 3:30pm, during peak season – allowing us to accommodate all types of travelers – especially those who are just visiting for the day or those who are arriving by cruise ship.

Guests are advised to dress warmly for their tour. Wear pants and bring a sweatshirt. Also, please bring a jacket to help break the wind. Do not wear open-toed shoes or sandals.

The Victoria Whales and Butchart Gardens Tour

Prince of Whales, 812 Wharf Street, Victoria, British Columbia

This tour makes the most out of your vacation time by allowing you to enjoy two memorable experiences in a single day: whale watching and a tour of the Butchart Gardens. Both of these trips are extremely popular with visitors, but can be difficult to fit in one day. With the Victoria Whales and Garden Tour, Prince of Whales takes care of the scheduling and makes this trip a fun and exciting possibility. The tour departs from downtown Victoria and, after whale watching in the protected waters of Haro and Juan de Fuca Strait, arrives in the secluded Tod inlet at the Butchart Gardens private dock. Shuttle buses leave from the Gardens to Victoria throughout the evening, giving you the freedom to choose whenever you want to leave and return home.

Program includes: departure from Victoria’s Inner Harbour, 3 hours of whale watching around the Gulf and San Juan Islands, private docking and admissions to the Butchart Gardens and return coach transfers to downtown.

Butchart Gardens

The Butchart Gardens is one of the world’s premier floral show gardens. Jennie Butchart began to shape this magnificent landscape in 1904. She established, in the style of the grand estates of the period, several distinct gardens to evoke a range of aesthetic experiences. An abandoned limestone quarry was transformed into the dramatic Sunken Garden, a reflection of the early 20th-century beautification movement and an exceptional achievement in Canadian gardening history. Through successive generations of the Butchart family, The Gardens has retained much of its original design, and continues the Victorian tradition of seasonally changing the outstanding floral displays.
